Women Can Live Healthy Up To 63 Years

This is the French average calculated by Eurostat, the statistical office of the European Union, which issued a report on the 27 countries.

At birth, French women can expect to live 63.6 years in good health compared to 62.7 years for men. With these figures established in 2011, France is slightly above the average of the 27 EU countries (62 years).

Sweden and Malta, the countries where people live the longest
At the age of 50 the French can expect to live an additional 19 years "without health limitations", that is to say without serious health problems or moderate. The average is 19.5 for women and 19.1 for men.

At the age of 65, the French can expect to live more than 9 years in good health (9.9 for women against 9.7 for men).

The Eurostat report compares it with other EU countries. It shows that it is in Sweden and Malta that one can expect to live the longest in good health, namely over 70 years. These two countries are followed by Luxembourg, Greece and Ireland.

In the Netherlands, men can expect to live 5 years longer than women!
Overall in Europe, the gap between healthy life expectancy of women and that of men is not significant. The exception is Lithuania where women can expect to live 5 years longer than men. In the Netherlands, men can claim to have a life expectancy that is 5 years longer than that of Dutch women!
